Our adult program is designed for every level TBF athlete (we refer to every TBF client as “athlete”), from beginner to competitive athlete. Every workout is scaled to each person’s particular ability level. We can scale up or down: load or weight, range of motion, exercise movement, or substitute a completely different exercise. Below is a description of a typical day and workout.
1. Every workout begins with a dynamic warm-up, designed to loosen up the body and prepare the joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles for the physical activity that you will perform. This constitutes moving through ranges of motion in swift movements to increase range of motion for the prescribed workout of the day.
2. You will then perform the workout. The workout can vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. You will perform a variety of strength, power, balance, agility, and endurance exercises. Every workout is varied so your body never has a chance to adapt to the stimulus. You will work with “heavy” and “light” loads; with “heavy” and “light” being relative to each athlete. The workouts provide a cardiovascular and resistance training benefit.
3. Following the workout we take every athlete through a series of static stretches. We hold each for around 30-90 seconds. This is designed to help prevent stiffness, increase range of motion, and counter act muscle imbalances within the kinetic chain (posture).
Classes last for less than 1 hour including warm-up, workout, and cool down.
